Haifeng successfully engineered and commissioned a complete continuous PIR sandwich panel production line for a major Chinese steel structure and architectural enclosure supplier, achieving a stabilized operational line speed of 12 m/min while recording a reported B1 panel classification. The project covered the turnkey installation of heavy-duty roll forming units, high-pressure cyclopentane-blown PIR metering systems, a 30-meter heated continuous double-belt laminator, an automated flying cross-cut saw, and automated vacuum suction stacking machinery.
Prior to commissioning, the customer utilized discontinuous foaming presses and manual lamination for industrial building panels. This legacy setup produced fewer than 800 m² per day, required excessive manual labor, and suffered from visible surface waviness (oil-canning) that failed pre-engineered building facade audits for international logistics hubs. The client required an automated, high-cadence continuous double-belt line capable of processing cyclopentane-blown PIR formulations, maintaining ±0.5mm thickness accuracy, and cutting finished panels to custom lengths without stopping the line.
Operational since July 2025 on a two-shift daily schedule across an 1,800 m² facility, the production line outputs over 4,500 m² of high-grade insulated panels per shift. By deploying Haifeng's synchronized high-pressure oscillating dispensing and heavy-duty 30m double-belt lamination, the client manufactures flat architectural wall and roof panels for the specified building-envelope requirements.
General Application Options (not the material scope of this project):
This project uses PIR core panels and a 30 m double-belt line, with sustained 12 m/min operation recorded on 50 mm wall panels. The PU/PIR/Rock Wool options below describe the broader application family; they do not indicate that all three core materials were delivered in this project. The related industrial-building solution presents a separate 24 m, 3–9 m/min reference configuration.
| Solution Module | Typical Panels | Core Material | Main Process | Typical Production Mode |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Industrial Buildings & Warehouses | Wall / Roof / Partition Panels | PU / PIR / Rock Wool | Foaming / Lamination | Continuous |
Area output per shift is a supplied project reference. Effective width, shift duration, running time, changeovers and accepted-panel yield must be specified before deriving or comparing area capacity.
Solutions Delivery
Haifeng deployed a heavy-duty continuous double-belt production architecture optimized for fast-curing, cyclopentane-blown polyisocyanurate (PIR) core formulations, ensuring continuous structural consistency across high line speeds:
1. Precision Roll Forming Integration: Dual-cassette profiling stations cold-roll pre-painted steel sheets into precise architectural tongue-and-groove wall designs and high-rib roof profiles, passing through sheet preheaters at 45°C.
2. Pentane-Safe High-Pressure Metering: Servo-driven high-pressure axial piston pumps in an explosion-proof safety enclosure meter PIR precursors at up to 200 bar, distributed via a high-speed servo-oscillating pour head across the moving bottom steel facing.
3. 30m Continuous Heated Double Belt: Precision-machined, high-rigidity chain plates exert uniform continuous pressure over a 30-meter length, ensuring controlled foam curing and tight ±0.5mm thickness tolerances.
4. Synchronous Flying Saw & Stacking Automation: A multi-axis flying saw cuts moving panels with ±2.0mm accuracy without halting the line, followed by an automated panel cooling turnover rack and vacuum suction stacking unit.
