Advanced Composites HP-RTM Solution Banner background

Advanced Composites HP-RTM Solution

Coordinate high-pressure resin metering/mixing and optional micro-gap compression for structural composites. The supplied sub-3-minute complete-cycle reference is configuration-specific.

Production Line Planning

Next-Generation Liquid Composite Molding for Structural Lightweighting

Accelerating electrification and aerospace mobility mandates ultra-lightweight structural architectures capable of high energy absorption and extreme rigidity. While continuous carbon fiber offers peak physical performance, conventional autoclave prepreg consolidation remains trapped by cycle times lasting hours and exorbitant tooling expenses. Haifeng’s Advanced Composites Liquid Molding Solution breaks this throughput barrier by integrating ultra-high-pressure injection (HP-RTM) and micro-gap compression (HP-CRTM) into synchronized automated press cells.

Press-Synchronized Gap Injection (HP-CRTM)

The supplied 0.5–2.0 mm micro-gap reference spreads resin before the compression stroke. The stated 80% flow-drag comparison applies to its specified preform and flow conditions; it is not a universal fiber-wash or impregnation guarantee.

Tool-Mounted Solvent-Free Cleanout

Tool-mounted mechanical cleanout heads are specified to clear retained mixed resin and cut runners; the tool, resin and cleaning sequence determine the remaining runner and cleaning requirements.

For structural automotive and other specified composite applications, define the reinforcement, resin, tool and complete loading-to-demolding sequence. Supplied sub-3-minute cycle and impregnation references are configuration-specific; internal defects and final properties require the agreed part tests.

Manufacturing Workflow

Turnkey Automated HP-CRTM Manufacturing Workflow

A precision industrial sequence engineered for high-throughput composite part consolidation.

01

Carbon Fiber Preforming & Robot Loading

Multi-axial carbon fabric plies are binder-stabilized into 3D preforms, trimmed by ultrasonic cutters, and loaded by automated end-effectors into the heated tool.

CARBON PLY ORIENTATION 0°/90°/±45°; FIBER FRACTION > 55%
02

Tool Micro-Gap Setting & Deep Vacuum Drawing

The press closes the mold to a calibrated micro-gap (0.5–2.0 mm) while high-speed vacuum skids evacuate the cavity to 0.05 kPa to prevent trapped air pockets.

GAP WIDTH 0.5–2.0 MM; CAVITY VACUUM < 0.05 KPA
03

High-Pressure Impingement Gap Injection

The metering/mixing circuit operates within the supplied 12–20 MPa range and delivers resin through the tool-mounted head. Cavity pressure, flow and compression timing are established separately for the selected tool and preform.

METERING/MIXING CIRCUIT 12–20 MPA; SUPPLIED OUTPUT WINDOW 50–250 G/S

Production Planning Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers about Advanced Composites HP-RTM Solution, including material selection, equipment configuration and the information needed to plan a production line.

How does HP-CRTM micro-gap injection control fiber movement? +
Resin spreads over the supplied 1.2 mm gap before the coordinated compression stroke. Fiber displacement and impregnation depend on preform fixation, flow, gap and press timing and are verified on the selected part.
Can fast-curing polyurethane resins be processed instead of epoxy? +
Yes, modular high-pressure impingement heads process fast-curing polyurethanes with gel times under 45 seconds.
What level of press parallelism is required for HP-CRTM operation? +
The hydraulic press should maintain active 4-corner parallelism within ±0.02 mm under dynamic clamping loads.
How does the machine handle fast-curing resin without tip freeze-offs? +
The head maintains closed recirculation until shot execution and a mechanical piston clears the chamber within milliseconds.
