Project reference basis. Figures and configuration details are reported in the supplied project brief. They are reference values for the stated application, rather than verified acceptance results or a guarantee for another installation. The supplied brief describes the following project context.

A leading national cryogenic medical equipment technology enterprise in Anhui deployed Haifeng’s specialized VIP composite polyurethane foaming system. The project was commissioned to manufacture high-reliability insulation envelopes for 500 L to 800 L ultra-low temperature (-86°C) biological vaccine and specimen freezers.

Prior to this deployment, the manufacturer faced severe yield losses. High-velocity chemical streams from legacy mixing heads physically shifted and punctured fragile barrier foils on pre-installed vacuum insulation panels (VIP), causing a 6.5% panel failure rate. Furthermore, poor interfacial foam-to-VIP wet-out created micro-air chimneys; during power failure simulations, cabinet temperatures rose from -86°C past the stated -60°C test endpoint in just 1.5 hours, not meeting the submitted design target; biological storage requirements require separate validation.

Haifeng supplied an integrated micro-momentum foaming cell centered on the HF-ULT86-VIP system. Featuring diffused multi-port dispensing (< 8 m/s) and soft-vacuum cavity drawing (85 kPa), the equipment aimed to reduce VIP puncture defects, raising total wall thermal resistance by 40% and extending off-grid cold holding time to 4.2 hours.

Review point: Do not turn a -60°C trial endpoint into a universal vaccine/specimen safety threshold. The 0-defect claim is a submitted finite sample, not a guarantee. Cavity 85 kPa absolute and VIP internal vacuum are separate.

Solutions Delivery

Reported equipment configuration from the supplied brief:

Haifeng engineered an ultra-gentle, high-pressure encapsulation cell designed for fragile composite assemblies. Pre-tested VIP panels are mounted into dedicated positioning grooves on the stainless steel cabinet liner using non-penetrating magnetic holders.

The cabinet core is positioned in a precision hydraulic clamping fixture, where a soft-vacuum skid evacuates the mold cavity to 85 kPa. High-functionality polyol and polymeric isocyanates are metered at 15.0 MPa via servo axial piston pumps under continuous Coriolis mass flow measurement.

Material discharges through a low-momentum multi-port diffuser head. Stream velocity is slowed from 30 m/s to 8 m/s, spreading gently into narrow 25 mm gaps behind the VIP panels without tearing the barrier films. Driven by soft-vacuum expansion, the fine closed-cell polyurethane foam locks tightly against the VIP surfaces, eliminating interfacial voids. After 15 minutes of in-mold curing at 45°C, the insulated cabinet undergoes 100% infrared thermal imaging to verify zero cold-bridge leakage.

Do not turn a -60°C trial endpoint into a universal vaccine/specimen safety threshold. The 0-defect claim is a submitted finite sample, not a guarantee. Cavity 85 kPa absolute and VIP internal vacuum are separate.

Reported Results — Records Pending Verification

4.2 Hours
Off-Grid Cold Holding Time
The brief reports 4.25 h to a -60°C center-point endpoint after power-off from -86°C at 25°C ambient. Cabinet loading, sensor locations and original test records are required; biological storage limits are separate.
0
VIP Panel Puncture Defects
The brief reports no punctures in a 1,000-cabinet production series. Its described sample inspection does not establish every panel’s vacuum integrity; sampling and records require review.
40%
Total Thermal Resistance Gain
Reported wall resistance gain 41.2% versus a non-VIP reference at a 100 mm wall section. The steady-state measurement, specimen boundaries and thermal-bridge contribution require verification.
