Haifeng successfully engineered and commissioned an automated heavy-duty solid polyurethane tire casting line for a premier compact construction machinery manufacturer in China, achieving a 300% increase in tread chunking and tear resistance on skid steer loaders. The turnkey delivery encompassed a high-output dual-component dosing machine, heavy 120-ton multi-segment hydraulic tire presses, dynamic oil heating units, and automated induction rim preheaters.
Prior to commissioning, contractors operating the customer's compact skid steer loaders experienced rapid tire degradation. Performing high-torque zero-radius skid turns on abrasive concrete and gravel caused standard solid rubber tires to tear, chunk, and shed entire tread blocks within 200 hours. The client required an advanced chemical reaction molding platform capable of casting tough, high-modulus polyurethane elastomers directly onto heavy-gauge 10-16.5 welded steel rims, delivering extreme shear resistance and eliminating tread chunking.
Operating since September 2024 on a two-shift daily schedule across a 450 m² workshop, the workcell outputs over 150 heavy skid steer tires daily. By deploying Haifeng's closed-loop Ratio Lock flow algorithms and heavy segmented mold clamping, the client reliably manufactures ultra-durable, chunk-resistant skid steer tires that comply with the most demanding global construction equipment standards.
Project Technical Specification Matrix:

Solutions Delivery
Haifeng deployed an industrial reaction injection tire workcell engineered for massive shear-resistant elastomeric formulations:
1. Rim Grit-Blasting & Induction Heating: Heavy welded rims are blasted to Sa 2.5 and heated to 70°C, ensuring a permanent chemical bond with 18 N/mm peel strength.
2. High-Output Stoichiometric Metering: Heavy-duty axial displacement pumps meter precursors at up to 60 kg/min with ±0.5% precision, injecting a 32kg tire cavity in 4.5 seconds.
3. 120-Ton Multi-Segment Clamping: Heavy hydraulic presses close 4-segment radial tooling firmly against internal pressures, maintaining deep directional traction lugs.
4. Dynamic Oil Temperature Balancing: High-capacity TCU skids circulate heated oil through mold platens at 65°C (±0.8°C), ensuring uniform curing across thick tread blocks.
Installation and commissioning: 22 days. Operator training: 4 days. Warranty: 1 year. Long-term spare parts and remote PLC diagnostic support are available.
